On Saturday 16th June, BedPop will again host Taste Bedford, a celebration of food and music on the embankment of the River Great Ouse at Mill Meadows. The one-day festival will showcase unique culinary experiences, local producers’ stalls, live music on the Victorian bandstand, a Food Theatre and a pop up pub from our partners, Charles Wells.
On the Bandstand
We are thrilled to announce this year’s bandstand headliners are local boys-done-good, The Wholls. The Bedford-based rockers have a loyal following in the UK and are also enjoying international success plus regular radio airplay. Championed by BBC introducing, you won’t want to miss their headline set, which is sure to have Mill Meadows on its feet!
In the Food Theatre
Great British Bake Off alumnus, Howard Middleton, is our Food Theatre headliner. Howard competed in the 2013 series and has since built up a reputation running successful baking masterclasses and appearing at food festivals around the country. Hugely entertaining, Howard will be bringing some Bake Off magic to the Taste tent.
On Mill Meadows
In the surrounding Mill Meadows you’ll find even more mouth-watering street food vendors, including Mexican, Indian, Thai, French crepes, gourmet sausages and vegan stalls. We’ve added more local producers who will be selling breads, cakes, herbs, fruit and veg, meats and cheeses. You definitely need to come hungry!
In our workshop area there will be kids’ cookery and crafts, an introduction to vegan food and more.
This event is being organised in partnership with Charles Wells and also sponsoring are Bedford Film Festival, Woodfines Solicitors, Robinson & Hall, The Vintage Suit Hire Company, Stimpson Eves plus local councillors Luigi Reale and David Fletcher.
Taste Bedford will be like no other free entry outdoor event in Bedford and aims to raise the culinary profile of the town.
Everyone’s invited to join in the party!
