Introducing Anne Harnan, our food curator for Taste Bedford – a free food and music festival at Mill Meadows on Bedford’s beautiful Embankment.
Anne Harnan will help to drive the food event. She has a wealth of knowledge of the food industry, and has worked alongside many well-known TV food personalities and Michelin starred chefs. Starting life as a development chef, she has worked in food media, on the cookery pages of Good Housekeeping and Prima magazines. A crossover into TV saw her working alongside celebrity chefs such as Gordon Ramsey, Ainsley Harriott and Sophie Grigson and supporting them at food shows and exhibitions. She has taught at Jean Christophe Novelli’s Cookery School, and demonstrates at food events. She also contributes to many cookery books including the BBC MasterChef series and Mary Berry’s books. For the last three years she has been involved with the award winning Thame Food Festival (the largest free food event in the country).
Having imagined a local food festival for Bedford, she is excited to be working with the likeminded BedPop team. Taste Bedford will champion local producers and food heroes and create an event to be enjoyed by food lovers and all the family.
